“When our eyes see our hands doing the work of our hearts, the circle of creation is completed inside us, the doors of our souls fly open and love steps forth to heal everything in sight.”
~ Michael Bridge
I believe that we are moving in to the age of the heart.
Many of us are being called right now to open our hearts, connect with love and find our bliss.
We are yearning for a deeper experience of life.
We are wanting more – more passion, more fulfillment, more joy.
We are wanting to live more authentically and find ways to express our natural gifts to the world.
This is the calling of our hearts.
We are being called to find what we love, and to live it.
I am noticing this new yearning in many of my coaching clients. People are coming to me seeking guidance and support to understand these new feelings they are having.
Many of them are confused or uncertain. For some, out of nowhere they have found themselves looking around at their life and realising that it no longer feels right. Their career is not fulfilling them in the way it used to, their old way of doing things is no longer working, and inauthentic or superficial relationships are no longer satisfying them.
This can be a scary time.
The path of your heart may initially seem reckless to the mind.
Your heart may call you to quit your job, to end a relationship, or move to a new city.
HOW TO SHIFT TO A HEART DRIVEN LIFE
“The heart knows what it wants, and it often makes no sense. Intuition, creativity, and listening are all imperative in creating an inspired life.”
~ Jonathan H. Ellerby
In order to manage this transition, it is important to start to understand what is going on inside of you.
No, you are not losing your mind.
You are not going crazy and you are not being totally irresponsible by wanting to throw away a career you have just spent the past 10 years building.
Quite the opposite is true.
Everything is actually unfolding perfectly and you are being divinely guided towards what it is that is truly right for you.
“None of us need instruction in how to recognize what our heart is saying. We do need guidance, however, on how to have the courage to follow those feelings, since they will force us to change our lives in any case.”
~ Caroline Myss
So, how can we navigate these uncharted waters and successfully sail towards the life that our heart yearns for?
Here are 3 principles that you can apply to support you through this transition…
1. Listen to your loving voice:
Your loving voice is that sweet, soft, supportive inner guidance that believes in you, cheers you on and tells you that you can do anything.
On the journey to following your heart, your sneaky fear voice will often creep in to tear you down and tell you that you’re crazy.
It is your work to shift your perception.
You must choose to perceive yourself and your life with love instead of fear.
2. Follow your heart’s nudges with courage:
Your heart will call you to take new, brave and bold steps in order to create a life you love.
It is your job to be courageous and strong and to be willing to follow it’s guidance no matter where it leads you.
The path of your heart requires you to trust yourself and tune inwards for your guidance rather than looking to the external world.
3. Be willing to let go:
Your heart will call you to bring new things in to your life.
In order to make space for these new things it will also encourage you to let go of what is no longer serving you.
You must be willing to follow through on this guidance and release anything from your life that you do not love.
Part of this process may also require you to let go of aspects of yourself. You may need to let go of old habits, old ways of thinking and old ways of seeing yourself.
You may also have to let go of worrying what people think of you or the need to impress others.
Being willing to let go of what is not in line with your heart is the fastest way to allow your new love-driven life to come into fruition.
