Meet Our First Sponsor Girls: Emuye + Shanti!

As many of you will remember, a few months ago we ran a massive ‘Go Love Yourself’ deal, with a percentage of every sale going towards sponsoring a girl through She’s The First.

Well, the GLY deal was so successful that we were able to sponsor four girls! And today, I’d like to introduce you to the first two; Emuye {above left} and Shanti {above right}.

Emuye lives in Ethiopia, she’s 14 years old and is currently a sixth grader. She’s a part of the Selamta Family Project, and was brought there by her brother, who was worried about her as she was coming into the age where she could be married off. Now they live together with the Selamta family and Emuye is getting the help she needs to continue her education.

By sponsoring Emuye, we {the amazing Wild Sister community!} are providing Emuye with a year’s education, after school tutoring programs, wholesome food, a small savings account, clothing and shoes, medical coverage, and a comfortable home.

Shanti lives in Nepal, she’s also 14 and a sixth grader. She loves science, soccer, reading and dancing, and wants to become a nurse when she graduates. She attends Kopila Valley Children’s School, where all the students fall into the ‘high risk’ category for being married off or becoming domestic servants. They are the first off their generation to be educated and literate.

By sponsoring Shanti, we are providing her with a year’s education, school uniform, bag and textbooks, school lunches, and medical needs.

So, if you purchased the GLY self-care package, you have provided care and education for these two girls – and two more on the way!

A huge THANK YOU to you and the worldwide Wild Sister tribe for helping to make this happen.

I’ll be keeping you updated with news from Emuye and Shanti, and will be introducing the next two lovely sponsor girls once we have been matched with them.

If you have ever thought about sponsoring the education of girls in the developing world, I highly recommend going through She’s The First.

They are helping so many girls be the first in their families to graduate high school, and saving them from being married off or living lives of poverty. I couldn’t be prouder or more excited to be partnering with such a brilliant organisation.

They are amazing, kind, compassionate, kickass women with the determination to change the world – true Wild Sisters!

Again, than you for supporting and buying from Wild Sister, you are helping us make this world a better place.

So much LOVE,

P.S: We love supporting causes we believe in, check out what else we’re doing to change the world here.
