Since 2012, I’ve been writing fiction.
It started as a little side project for me. Really, I just wanted to see if I could write a book. I wanted to see if I could create characters, develop a story, and finish it.
Turns out I could. But what surprised me wasn’t that I wrote a fiction story, it was that I loved it. I thought it would be fun, but I didn’t expect to love writing stories as much as I did.
Since then, I’ve continued writing in my spare time. But over the last year and a half, I let it slide. I happily put my attention towards learning about my Asperger’s diagnosis, co-founding the Autistic Women’s Collective, creating the Create Your eMag in 4 Weeks and Devotion to Self courses, publishing Wild + Precious, and making the Wild Sisterhood better than it’s ever been.
I loved doing all that, it energized me and excited me, and it still does! But I miss my stories, my characters, those solitary hours spent typing away in another world.
So, at the start of 2015, I set myself a goal to make more time to write stories. More specifically, I set a goal to finish my third fiction work by the end of February.
Right now, I’m more than half way through. But with only 10 days left in the month, I’m cutting it close. So to increase my writing hours – and my chances of hitting my goal – I’m taking a short break from the Wild Sister blog and newsletter.
I’ll still be in the Wild Sisterhood, doing the live chat (the Feb chat is tomorrow!), and hanging in the Sisterhood Facebook group, but I’ll be away from the blog and your inbox until early March.
Well, I’m off to clock up that word count.
Wish me luck!
